The Best School Birthday Ideas!
1. Wake them up to balloons in their room
Start off the day on a high note by filling their bedroom floor with tons of balloons! The more, the better!
We do this for all the kids no matter what day their birthday lands on, its always a great way to kick off their special day.
If your kid has an Alexa in their room, ask her to sing happy birthday with you! Then, let them blast their favorite music while they get ready for the day.
2. Let them wear a new birthday outfit

This is another birthday tradition we always do in our house! Getting to wear their new outfit for all their friends to see at school makes it even better!
The weekend before your kids birthday, let them go pick out a new outfit or order a special one online.
There are plenty of adorable and fun “its my birthday” shirts you can find on Amazon or Etsy. Some of them can even be personalized just for your child with their name and/or age!
3. Make time for a special birthday breakfast
What a better way to send off your kid to school on their birthday than with a special birthday breakfast?!
If you have the time in the morning, whip up their favorite breakfast made with love! Consider setting up the table with balloons tied to their chair and using birthday plates!
Short on time in the morning? I totally get it. Try to get going 10-15 minutes early and swing by their favorite fast food place or donut shop instead!
4. Decorate your car for school drop off
Pick up some car window markers and write happy birthday messages all over your car! Everyone in the drop off or pick up line will know its their birthday!
A fun thing to add is a message for others to honk for their birthday! We did this one year and my daughter died laughing and smiled ear to ear every time someone honked!
5. Let them wear a birthday badge to school

7. Send in a school birthday treat for their class
A perk of being in Elementary school is your kid only has one classroom, so you’re able to do fun things like this while they still appreciate them!
Most schools will allow you to send in or drop off a special birthday treat for your kids classroom. Things like store bought cookies or cupcakes are great options but there’s also tons of fun and unique birthday treats you can buy in bulk on Amazon (or in store) to bring in too!
Just be sure to ask for a head count of how many kids you’ll need to bring in treats for as well as allergies to avoid! Another great idea is to send mini plates or napkins to help your child’s teacher out with easier clean up.

8. Make classroom birthday favors to give out
In addition to the school treats, another fun school birthday idea is to send in little classroom birthday favors/goodie bags too!
Truthfully, I had no idea this was a thing until my daughter was in Kindergarten but we had so much fun putting together little goodies bags for all her classroom friends! We ended up making playdough cupcakes kits that the kids could take home. The kits had everything they needed to make their own birthday cupcake out of playdough!
The sunglasses above are another birthday favor idea we did another year with my son. Super easy but still fun!
