This kid-friendly halloween classroom treat bag for school is perfect for your kiddos Halloween party at school!
Hi friends,
Happy spooky season! ?✨
This year, we signed up to bring the goody bags for my kindergarten sons classroom Halloween party!
Knowing how much candy is already thrown at our kids during this season, I really didn’t want to just send home yet another baggy full of candy. I also figured it would be wasteful to spend money on a bunch of cheap trinkets like plastic spiders that will immediately get forgotten about.
I like to be really intentional with any sort gift giving opportunity, not only because I want the receiver to enjoy but I also like to know I’m not wasting my money on just anything that won’t be used or truly enjoyed.
That said, I started to think “what would a room full of kindergarteners love?” and started to brainstorm some ideas that ended up turning out super cute!
Halloween Classroom Treat Bag For School
Here’s everything we included in them..
1. Playdough spider
What kindergartener do you know that doesn’t love playdoh? I’d venture to guess not many!
Playdoh is such a practical gift that you know for a fact won’t just end up thrown away but it’s not enough for me to just throw some playdoh in a bag and call it day – it has to be cute!
We decided to make these playdoh spiders that were surprisingly easy to make given how cute they are.
2. Ghost sucker
It wouldn’t be a treat bag without at least one sweet treat, would it?
I definitely didn’t want to be just another candy filled bag they came home with but this idea was too cute to pass up.
If you’ve never seen these before, all it is is a Tootsi pop covered in a sheet of tissue paper tied off with some cute string! Use a sharpie to add eyes and a mouth and voila!
3. Applesauce pouch mummy
Okay, one last craft!
How cute are these applesauce pouch mummies?
I saw this craft on Pinterest with juices but figured it would come out the same with an applesauce pouch and I was right! Totally worked just the same!
At first I was using bandages to wrap them but honestly, you need quite a bit of length and the cost of bandages per inch vs. the cost of streamers from Dollar Tree per inch doesn’t even compare.
Both ways turned out super cute regardless – one was just cheaper!
4. Scavenger hunt printable
I thought a scavenger hunt would be a fun non-candy and non-food item to include! I made this scavenger hunt myself, please feel free to download it and include it in your halloween goody bag too.
*Note: All printables on this site are for personal use only and under no circumstances are allowed to be sold or offered anywhere else.
5. Slime
I thought these little containers of slime were a fun alternative to candy.
Sure, slime might not be the most popular choice among parents but it’s definitely something that kids will play with, zero questions asked!
6. Bubbles
Bubbles were another good non-food, non-candy halloween party favor option that I thought would be fun to include.
7. Pretzels
Lastly, a little snack to help fuel them up for a long night of trick or treating!
